Michal J. WOZNIAK (WUT) in National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) in Tsukuba
I have visited National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) in Tsukuba Japan, for NanoBridges project implementation, second time. Now I was there 3 weeks (12th August – 2nd September 2013).
During my stay I have carried out experiments to produce necessary data for the nanoparticles. All expected data from second Work Package 2 „Carrying out experiments to produce necessary (missing) data for NPs” were collected.
Using my experience in Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) I developed novel method for nanoparticles sample preparation and investigation in liquid environment. I tested morphology and size distribution of nanoparticles in ambient and liquid condition. Other aspect of my study was investigation of morphology of CHO (Chinese Hamster Ovary)-NF-kappa B cells, and cells – nanoparticles interaction using Confocal Laser Microscopy (CLM) methods. I have learned a lot about CLM.
Moreover together with Prof. Seishiro Hirano (NIES) we have worked on new project proposal and we have planed a new research.
I used to stay in Tsukuba few years as a graduate student and as a postdoc. Because of this personally I am very familiar with Japan and I am always more than happy to visit “Land of the Rising Sun”. Visiting NIES was very pleasant and fruitful experience for me.
